A great opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join our team as a Nuclear Training Delivery Engineer. In this role, you will work within a small team of dedicated engineering professionals developing and delivering technical training solutions for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business and wider Submarines Enterprise.

This is a full-time role with much of the working week spent at our main site in Derby, but with periodic delivery at other locations as required. Due to the security classification of our material, there will be a requirement to be in office five days a week when training is being delivered. Flexible working (including working from home) is possible outside of these periods. Having a Full UK Driving Licence is required to support this role.

It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. What you will be doing:
With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to be involved with the following:
You will deliver product-specific educational courses to Rolls-Royce Submarine staff, the Customer and Enterprise partners to ensure a good level of understanding of the NSRP systems and equipment and to support Submarine availability. You will maintain compliance with the Rolls-Royce Nuclear Training Requirements Plan and any associated processes. You will support updates of current courseware including the design and development of future training solutions in support of user requirements. You will support activities to maintain our accreditation as a training provider and maintain compliance against our internal governance processes. You will occasionally travel to other UK sites to deliver courses/represent the training team will be required, this may include overnight stays.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
A recognised Teaching Qualification in the Lifelong Learning Sector, or demonstratable equivalent experience gained within the workplace, supported by a professional portfolio. Degree or equivalent curriculum experience in Engineering or Science disciplines is highly desirable. Theoretical and operational knowledge of Pressure Water Reactors (PWR) and NSRP systems and equipment or good understanding of engineering science (Physics, Material and Chemistry) is highly desirable but not essential as an in-depth training package can be provided. Confident communicator with excellent presentation skills, and a passion to deliver training and develop others. A strong team player and an ability to prioritise tasks during busy periods. Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc). This role may suit either an experienced Component / Systems Engineer, a Nuclear Submarine Engineering Watchkeeper (CAT A or CAT B), or someone from an educational background with the ability to work in the adult educational sector.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
