Job Overview

Are you ready to be part of an innovative team that's driving change in the equipment hire industry? We're looking for a passionate Mobile Telemetry Engineer to take ownership of telemetry systems across our territories. This is a fantastic opportunity to work hands‑on with cutting‑edge technology while supporting a fast‑paced, customer‑focused business.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and manage telemetry systems on Speedy assets.
  • Provide quality service, product, and control mechanism in Northern Speedy territories.
  • Lead synergy between all Speedy categories and engineering functions who adopt and use telemetry.
  • Ongoing quality control of telemetry devices fixed to Speedy assets.
  • Create and maintain a telemetry installation guide.
  • Develop and continually adapt training material and practical sessions for Speedy engineers.
  • Provision of telemetry training to others, as required.
  • Liaise with others in the Speedy team to ensure availability in the network.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative key relationships across divisions.
  • Assist in development of Standard Operating Procedures.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Auto electrician, electrical, maintenance electrician, electrical installer, electrical engineer, electrical technician proficiency.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Previous experience working at single‑phase and three‑phase AC electrics, ideally gained within the hire industry or similar engineering field.
  • 12 V DC and 24 V DC electric fault‑finding and ability to read wiring diagrams.
  • Understanding of basic engine communication systems (CAN bus and MOD bus).
  • Proficient computer skills; use of telemetry platforms.
  • Ability to write technical reports.
  • Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight when required.
  • Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
