Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an exciting opportunity for aMechanical/Hydraulic Assembly Technicianto join our growing team based at our Staverton site in Gloucestershire. This role will be responsible for building and stripping a variety of simple and complex mechanical hydraulic units, utilising your knowledge of hydraulic systems to conduct efficient inspections and fault-finding investigations.
What will you be doing?
You'll be joining a talented, welcoming and collaborative team and will be responsible for the assembly, test and inspection of various mechanical instruments, using complex diagnostic tests and methodologies as well as high-level technical build. You'll effectively interpret and utilise assembly and engineering drawing/specifications. You'll also be responsible for ensuring that all assembly, test functions are completed to the necessary quality standards – they meet contractual customer expectations and conformance to enable progression to final inspection and release. It's also crucial in this role that you adhere to legislation governing employment, including but not restricted to; health and safety, data protection, equal opportunities, quality assurance ensuring compliance with statutory and local policies and procedures.
What do you need to know?
You'll possess relevant experience working in a similar role, ideally within Aviation/Aerospace however this is not essential. You'll have no problem reading and interpreting engineering drawings and will be have experience in working with hydraulic/mechanical components. You'll have worked with measurement equipment in the past such as Verniers, Micormeteres and will have excellent hand-eye coordination. You'll be able to work both independently and also as part of a team whilst possessing excellent prioritisation skills.
