Mechanical Technician

Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire

Hours: 7:00am – 3:45pm Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 1:00pm Friday

Salary/Hourly rate £15.00 - £18.00 per hour (£31,200 - £37,440 based on 40 hour week)

Overtime paid at time and a half.

Benefits: 22 days holiday – rising to 25 days after 1 year service + bank holidays, annual summer and Christmas social events, free onsite parking, company enrolled pension, discretionary annual bonus.

Our client is on the hunt for a Mechanically minded technician who is confident in reading engineering drawings, has a steady hand for precise, detailed work. Maybe you have mechanical assembly experience?

If you have great manual dexterity and love working with your hands- this could be the role for you!

This role will involve being taught Orbital Welding and the programming behind it! A fantastic chance to grow your skillset and take your career to the next level!

  • Preparation of steel tubes

  • Orbital welding to tight tolerances

  • Producing welds for many applications across a variety of industries.

  • Pressure and leak testing to finished welds

  • Panel assembly

  • Tube bending

  • Inspection of finished products

    What we are looking for:

  • An excellent attention to detail

  • Mechanically minded and a background as a mechanical technical, fitter or assembler

  • Ability to read engineering drawings

  • Good manual dexterity skills.

  • A good team player with a collaborative approach

  • Health and safety aware

  • Self-motivated to meet deadlines
