Job Description

What will you be doing? 

As aMechanical System Engineer,you will joinGloucester team to support our activities within theAerospace sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Drive new development initiatives, modifications, and research for landing gear technology.
  • Engage in the structural and systems aspects of landing gear projects.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project requirements.
  • Lead the end-to-end validation and verification processes for project success.
  • Knowledge of designing interfaces between hardware components for optimal integration. 

Who are we looking for? 

  • Expertise in integrating mechanical and/or hydraulic systems.
  • Collaborate with the Program Chief Engineer to strategically plan engineering activities, ensuring the successful certification of the landing gear system.
  •  Develop comprehensive system and equipment requirements, including validation and verification matrices, and additional deliverables as part of the validation and verification process.
  • Prepare and author Declarations of Design Performance documentation.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific compliance standards, such as DO-178C for aerospace.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • A Bachelor's or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
  • More than five years' experience in relevant aerospace role.
  • Proficient in using tools like DOORS, MATLAB, Simulink, but not limited too.
