Job Title: Mechanical Draughtsperson Location: High Peak Job Overview: The Mechanical Draughtsperson will be responsible for interpreting sales documentation, producing General Arrangement drawings, allocating materials, and creating manufacturing drawings for Cranes and related equipment. The role also involves ensuring smooth collaboration between the sales, manufacturing, and procurement departments, as well as maintaining compliance with company quality and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities: Interpret Sales Specifications: Collect and analyze sales information to support drawing creation. Create General Arrangement Drawings: Produce detailed arrangement drawings of Cranes and Hoists based on contract requirements. Site Visits: Conduct customer site visits when necessary to complete the general arrangement procedure. Material Allocation: Identify appropriate materials and components for input into the company MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system. Purchasing Descriptions: Prepare accurate purchasing descriptions for proprietary components to be ordered in the MRP system. Manufacturing Drawings: Generate detailed manufacturing drawings and release them for crane and hoist production. Technical Support: Provide technical support to sales and manufacturing teams as required. Client & Supplier Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers to ensure smooth order fulfillment and production flow. Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to company quality, safety, and procedural guidelines. Knowledge & Experience: Essential: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to interact with various departments and team members across the business. Willing and able to work from heights during site visits. Strong understanding of engineering practices and environments. Desirable: Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) systems. HNC Level qualification or equivalent in Mechanical/Design Engineering. Prior experience working in engineering environments. Key Attributes: Professional and positive attitude. Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively in a team.
