Are you passionate about innovation in electric propulsion? A pioneering technology company is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team.
 
The Mechanical Design Engineer will:

Design and develop mechanical components for electric motors and generators, including housings, stators, and rotors.
Conduct 3D modelling and structural analysis (FEA) to optimise designs for performance and reliability.
Collaborate with electrical and controls engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
Produce and review engineering drawings and specifications in line with internal and industry standards.
Lead prototyping and validation activities, iterating designs based on test results.
Support manufacturing by ensuring mechanical designs are cost-effective, scalable, and high quality.  
The Mechanical Design Engineer will have:

Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience of machinery & equipment or DFM i.e. rotating machinery, or developing/manufacturing
Strong CAD skills – ideally with SolidWorks (other platforms also considered).
Familiarity with FEA tools and an understanding of material properties and manufacturing techniques.
Experience with GD&T and mechanical drawing standards.
Comfortable working hands-on with prototyping, testing, and refining mechanical systems.
