Mechanical Design Engineer

My client designs and manufactures a range of mechanical handling equipment able to compliment any bulk materials handling system.

They are on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team based in Stonehouse.

Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Design Engineer

Engineering design and development of new machines and design upgrades of established machines.
Provision of information and technical assistance to internal and external customers in relation to product and production requirements.
Engineering/Technical support for the sales function.
To assist in solution of non-conformance, commissioning and warranty issues.
Attend sites as required to carry out surveys and measurements/layouts.
Conversion of legacy 2-dimensional drawings computer generated models into 3-dimensional models, drawings and information packs.
To assist production, planning and purchasing to reduce product lead times and costs through close integration with production planning, production engineering, on time delivery and continually increasing the standard drawing library.
Compile technical specifications through the various IT systems as required.
Provide tele-sales/technical sales to customers as required.
Provide technical support to customers and colleagues for the mechanical products.
Any other reasonable duties as required by the company.
To comply with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience – Mechanical Design Engineer

Experience 3D CAD systems, notably 3D Inventor Engineering, 2D AutoCAD & Vault
Mechanical Engineering or manufacturing background
Bulk materials handling experience.
Knowledge of Bills of Material & ERP systems.
Engineering qualification minimum HND or equivalent.
Strong experience of mechanical design.
UK driving licence – occasional site visits
On Offer – Mechanical Design Engineer

£40K - £45K (DOE)
Hybrid working – 2/3 days in the office
25 days holiday + bank holidays
37 hour week – Monday to Thursday 8am – 4:30pm and Friday 8am – 1pm
