We are March the UKs leading provider of critical engineering services. Our expertise as a multi-disciplinary engineering partner across infrastructure, process and digital services has led to long term partnerships with leading organisations in everything from food and drink and utilities to high-security industries such as defence, aerospace and nuclear.

We are currently seeking to employ a Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As the Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing load calculations, equipment selection and coordinating with other trades to ensure we delivery an optimal system performance. In addition, you will be involved in reviewing external design solutions and will be required to conduction site inspections and provide technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Electrical systems for industrial and commercial premises.
  • Design calculations including selection of equipment, lighting, cable sizing, maximum demand, containment, lifecycle etc.
  • Assist the estimating team by sourcing quotations from suppliers and vetting quotations for compliance with employers requirement, specifications, and standards etc.
  • Technical support for the project teams
  • Stay up to date with the latest regulations and standards and merging technologies.
  • Review design and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
  • Co-ordinate with clients, architects, and project teams

Skills and Experience

  • Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations and building codes.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Communication
  • Collaborative working
  • Professional membership would be advantageous.

Specific Qualifications

  • HND in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficient using CAD/Revit
  • Proficient in Trimble design software
  • Lighting design
