Manufacturing Manager
£50,000, + Bonus up to 10%, Bristol, BS10, 33 days incl bank hols, working Monday to Friday 38 hours, Monday to Thursday 7am - 4 pm - (early finish Fridays), Pension and free parking.
An established and successful aerospace engineering company in Bristol are recruiting for a manufacturing manager, engineering manager who would report directly into the Managing Director.
The manufacturing manager, engineering managerrole will involve the following
Managing the manufacturing element of the organisation ensuring high quality business activities are achieved with maximum efficiency Ensure customer schedules for on time delivery are achieved through continuous improvement, production planning and new machinery requirements (CAPEX) The smooth running and organisation of the manufacturing team, identifying where training and development is required, implementing and contributing to the training of the people within their team Weekly and regular meetings with the production controller, procurement and the machine shop supervisors to check on work in progress and resolve any bottlenecks Manage and monitor all customer schedules and delivery requirements, adjusting work plans and flows to react to changing demand Analysing manufacturing operations/processes to improve mechanisms for manufacturing and associated activities Ensure sales outputs and KPI's are met with the support of the senior management team to ensure on time delivery for customers which in turn drives additional business Staff appraisals for development, coaching and general support to manage performance and ensure production targets are met Assist the senior management in the development and preparation of the strategy and general business planning of the organisation Interact and liaise with sub-contractors, suppliers and customers on a regular basis with site visits from time to time and regular online meetings
Desirable skills and qualifications for the Manufacturing manager, Engineering manager
Technical expertise in the Aerospace industry ideally or a related Engineering field within a manufacturing environment A professional qualification and background in engineering to HNC/D, degree or equivalent level Extensive knowledge in CNC machining processes in manufacturing Experience of managing existing production process's and continuous improvements Ability to influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers Working knowledge of LEAN processes and C I practices Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9000, AS9100,
