Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Derby (Civil Large Engine Build Facility) Working Pattern: Full-time, with hybrid flexibility - minimum 3 days on-site (Subject to Local managers approval)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Assembly & Test and Controls business in Civil Aerospace. You will be based at our Derby factory, supporting the Civil Large Engine build facility in creating, developing and maintaining the Method of Manufacture for our production lines.

In this role, you will provide technical support to operations and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve the manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and lead time.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
Manage and maintain the engine build technical package & ensure manufacturing processes comply with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
Champion a culture of zero defects and deploy digital systems that support Right First-Time manufacturing
Deliver and maintain the manufacturing method for engine assembly, supporting flight compliance and production volumes
Collaborate cross-functionally to enable design-for-assembly and rate-capable processes
Drive process improvements and introduce enhanced manufacturing methods and technologies
Maintain full compliance with technical policies including Export Control, Intellectual Property, and Cyber Security
Provide day-to-day technical support to operations and ensure process sustainability

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who lives our core behaviours-putting safety first, doing the right thing, keeping it simple and making a difference. You should also have:
A degree, HNC or HND in Engineering (desirable)
Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering, especially in continuous improvement
Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and their application in an operational setting
Proficiency in CAPP, MES, SAP and technical documentation (highly desirable)
Hands-on experience with quality tools including 8D, Solve-It sheets and root cause analysis
Experience with engine assembly manufacturing processes (highly desirable)
The professional level and salary for the role will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
