As the Manufacturing Director, you will:
- Oversee all aspects of production, quality control, and safety with 7 direct reports and around 250 indirect reports.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to enhance production efficiency and meet targets.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, planning, and quality assurance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
- Maintain adherence to all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Cultivate a culture of teamwork, accountability, and employee development.
- Manage equipment, materials, and personnel to meet production demands cost-effectively.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve manufacturing performance and efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to improve product quality and reliability.
- Keep up with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing
We seek a candidate with:
- A solid foundation in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.
- Substantial experience in leadership and management within heavy manufacturing sectors such as rail, aerospace, or wind.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems and other relevant software tools.
- Capability to lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous innovation and learning.
