You will lead the preventive and reactive maintenance functions at our Jenkins Lane facility in East London, holding the maintenance operating budget and the capital & lifecycle budget to drive financial savings through efficiency initiatives.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Renewi. In this role you will lead a team of maintenance engineers and back-office support instilling a culture of best practice in the examination of and fault finding on the equipment and servicing activities on all site equipment ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance at all times and maximising plant availability.

You will ensure productivity and availability exceeds minimum defined standards, by driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and processing operations.
Data drives our ways of working. You will develop and implement robust data management systems to support reliable decision making in relation to spend and maintenance schedules. KPI’s and SLA’s all assist us to ensure high operational availability and an efficient breakdown repair service for our plants.
Your key responsibilities:
• Manage the programme of planned preventative maintenance and inspection to minimise downtime, provide Root Cause Analysis of recurrent or significant faults and develop engineered solutions to these issues.
• Keep abreast of changes to health & safety and environmental legislation and Company policies to ensure defined standards and best practice are implemented and ensure all technicians are aware of any changes that may affect them.
• Identify under-performing assets for evaluation, identify potential business improvement projects and assist in the preparation of business case papers.
• Identify relevant skills and training requirements for staff, prepare local operating procedures as part of staff training and development.
• Report all safety or environmental issues to Management, and where appropriate, to internal support services staff. Prepare corrective action plans if required, complete identified actions.
• Manage and develop the maintenance team with a view to future progression inside the company.
• Support a mobile maintenance engineer who provide a service to our satellite sites.
Essential criteria for this role:
• Degree/NVQ3 in an Engineering discipline Experience in the development and use of detailed maintenance KPIs, both at a site and regional level that incorporate spend, performance & health and safety
• Proven track record in the implementation of robust PPM & TPM maintenance systems
• Experience in the development of a maintenance strategy across multiple sites, incorporating, stores and stock management, equipment safety, servicing breakdown and lifecycle replacement
• Previous experience of managing multi-million-pound budgets within a manufacturing/production environment
