We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technical Lead to join our team and support our growing business needs. Joining a dedicated team configuring & provisioning a customer network that is critical to the UKs infrastructure. The role will have responsibility for the routing design, validation and circuit writing of SDH / PDH telecommunication services on major clients Optical Transmission Network (Services are typically 64Kb, 2Mb and Ethernet over SDH stringently delivered to complexed routing specifications). Working in a close team with a highly motivating manager with a focus on potential & growth.

You will be Providing 2nd and 3rd line network engineering support on Services and equipment customer locations together with timely communications to specialist engineers, including the customer staff.Careful attention is required to prevailing SLAs, contract governance and all Site health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Be a part ofa 2nd/3rdLine Technical Support & Delivery team focused on the complex technical delivery activities supporting specific areas of Customer Services.

  • Complex delivery in line with customer SLAs
  • Active participation in the customers governance cycles
  • Accurate resource planning and forecasting
  • Complex incident management (Technology and Solution based).
  • Root Cause analysis for major incidents and escalated faults.
  • Work with the other 2nd/3rdLine Support teams to establish the: processes, systems and skills, required to implement Solutions that are dependent on multiple technologies.
  • Assist with the definition, and embedding, of a consistent set of processes interfacing to:Customer Services teams, Service Delivery (Provide/Field), Delivery Unit Operational teams, particularlyProblem Management.& Service Management,
  • Cooperate and contribute toa set of measures covering:SLA,RiSLA, MTTR and Delivery On-Time (DOT) performance, MTBF and fault volumes, Service reliability and performance.
  • Provide an on-call presence, on a rotated basis.
  • Drive forQuality andDeliveryStandards
  • Rigorously implements plans without compromising on standards without the need for being actively managed (self-starter and finisher)
  • Passionate about end-to-end performance and the quality of service delivered to our Customers
  • Initiates improvements to operational processes and has a can-do attitude when working ina demandingand ambiguous environment
  • Translates business insights and strategies into specific goals with clear plans for execution
  • Demonstrates a strong bias for action; delivering against time, quality and cost
  • Manage Change Control through Vodafone Change governance including the production of required
  • Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)

What we need from you?

  • Extensive experience in an operationalenvironment, preferably in a complex technology delivery role.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of network transmission (Ericsson OMS; ABB Fox) and Telephony equipment (CUCM; CUCME; IP Trade)
  • Experience with a working knowledge of network NMC / NMS Experience in a Control Centre working environment
  • Transmission understanding SDH/PDH
  • Routing & Ethernet experience
  • Customer facing experience.
