Salary:£24,420 per annum
Working Hours:Full-time, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract:Initial one-year contract with the potential for a permanent position

Our Client:
Our client is an independent special school based in Quidenham, Norfolk, and is a new satellite school to their Mildenhall location. The school caters for pupils aged 11-16, providing a small and nurturing environment focused on social and emotional development. The school places emphasis on building strong and trusting relationships between staff and students, laying the foundation for their success. The curriculum is motivational and progressive, supported by therapeutic principles grounded in THRIVE®.

The Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support vulnerable young people, aged 11–16, in their educational journey. You will:

  • Help raise pupils' emotional well-being and aspirations to learn.
  • Work in a collaborative environment, supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, while understanding their individual Special Educational Needs.
  • Ensure safeguarding is always a priority, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Implement strategies from individual Behaviour Support Plans to positively manage behaviour.
  • Offer tailored support depending on each student's needs, ensuring their safety and enabling access to learning activities.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • A keen interest in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively and positively.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A good standard of education (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths).
  • IT proficiency.
