About the Role- This is a great opportunity, joining our existing project teams working and supporting our Landing Gear work packages. You will work with a consultative approach while building strong relationships with our customers as a team, communicating with stakeholders at a variety of seniority levels and provide a high standard of System Engineering. All our consultants are adaptable and open to work across multiple sectors while being part of the team here at Akkodis.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of design solutions to meet current and future programme requirements, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Supporting LGS integration through maturation of system/sub-system interface documents.
  • Assist with management and tracking of requirements.
  • Co-ordination with multiple stakeholders and handling different technical departmental interfaces with client.
  • Provide support in the design, development & analysis of Landing Gear systems.
  • Participate in Research activities to enhance the understanding and maturity of Landing Gear technologies.
  • Able to conduct structural analysis.
  • Able to analyse Lab & Flight test data providing insights and identifying non-compliances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans & project reports.
  • Give input in the development of modification plans for Landing Gear systems, enhancing system performance and efficiency.


Qualifications- Study in the area of Mechanical / Aerospace engineering or equivalent discipline.


Required Skills

  • Basic awareness in some of the following: Aircraft Design, Control, Avionics, Installation, Structural Analysis and Modelling & Simulation.
  • An understanding of mathematical & mechanical equations (e.g. spring -mass-damper, conservation of moment, coordinate system rotations).
  • High level of commitment and proactivity, taking ownership of projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Adopt a “On Time” & “On Quality” mindset.
  • Planning and reporting experience.
  • Some experience in creating test cases.
  • Development & study of different Landing Gear systems.
  • Experience in writing technical specifications both at equipment as well as at system level.
  • Experience in the use of one or more of the following applications would be advantageous: Catia, MSC ADAMS, MATLAB, Simulink, Fluent or IBM DOORS.
  • Programming experience in one of the following languages: Python, C/C++, Java, JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of data analysis/science theory and tools.
  • Advanced use of MS Word, Excel & Power Point.

Preferred Skills

  • Product knowledge of landing gear functions, systems and components.
  • Taking ownership to ensure collective and individual performance.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace standards including but not limited to: ARP4754, ARP4761, DO160, DO178, DO254, AFDX, ARINC 429.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness & certification requirements.
  • Being able to deal with uncertainty and change with a positive mind-set maintaining a good energy level, demonstrating tenacity, resilience and perseverance when faced with adversity.
  • Continuously growing by seeking feedback, you are self-aware and can manage your own personal development.
  • Inquisitive mindset with good problem-solving skills.
