Japanese speaking FDI Research Coordinator Main Responsibilities:
•Supporting the entire investment cycle – with a focus on initial lead generation to outreach and account management
•Attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) from the UK
•Identifying, contacting, meeting, and communicating client’s value proposition to their client’s target investors, partners and customers
•Travelling to events and trade shows to identify companies looking for business expansion
•Supporting the whole overseas investment process from initial lead generation to negotiation and closing deals
•Providing trade & market entry support services to companies interested in exporting to the UK
���Supporting marketing activities on behalf of their government client in the UK, including webinars, trade show representation and networking events
•Planning, organizing and executing events with the purpose of attracting foreign direct investment
•Arranging and supporting visits from government and business delegations
•Acting as a liaison between the state government and prospective UK investors
•Reporting to clients via regular meeting notes and reports
•Undertaking research and 'technology scouting' for their Japanese/other APAC corporate clients
•Compiling regular reports (in English/Japanese) for submission to their clients
•Working with clients to help them engage and collaborate with potential technology partners
•Other related business development and administrative tasks

Japanese speaking FDI Research Coordinator Ideal Candidate:
•Ideally 2 years’ experience in FDI attraction, international business, site selection etc.
•An outgoing and dynamic approach to work – an enthusiasm for meeting and engaging people
•Excellent communication skills – to get complex ideas across from clients to customers/investors and vice versa
•Native level English skills and advanced Japanese language skills
•Experience of working in Japan or with Japanese companies preferred
•Ability to travel extensively domestically, and occasionally to the UK and the US
•An interest in technology, sustainability, market expansion and international business – to operate within multitiered supply chains and with multiple stakeholders
•A degree relevant to business, international relations, investment promotion or trade
Ideally but not essentially, experience in a relevant industry - automotive manufacturing, aerospace, biotechnology, energy, logistics, food manufacturing etc– so you can hit the ground running
