International Sales Director

Overview:
We are looking for an accomplished and driven International Sales Director to lead our international sales strategy and drive business growth. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, leadership skills, and the ability to develop and implement high-impact sales strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience managing global teams and working with complex technology solutions. We welcome applicants from Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, or other related sectors.

Key Responsibilities for International Sales Director:

  • Lead and manage a global sales team, ensuring strong performance and collaboration across regions.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies that drive business growth and market expansion, working closely with product and marketing teams to align efforts.

  • Identify new revenue opportunities and strengthen relationships with key clients, industry partners, resellers, and distribution networks.

  • Engage directly with senior leadership and executive teams to align sales initiatives with overall business objectives.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, providing strategic insights to refine sales approaches and ensure market leadership.

  • Provide leadership in high-value contract negotiations and complex sales engagements, collaborating with key business stakeholders.

  • Represent the company at international trade events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand presence and market reach.

  • Implement and oversee process improvements to enhance sales efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and corporate policies.

  • Support the professional development of the sales team through coaching and mentoring, fostering a high-performance culture.

    Required Experience & Skills for International Sales Director:

  • Strong leadership experience in managing international sales teams with a sales pipeline worth between £20m and £80m.

  • Experience with electronic equipment is desirable but not essential.

  • Demonstrated success in selling complex technical solutions in any one of the following sectors, such as aerospace, defence, automotive, or related sector is essential.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies for business growth.

  • Expertise in working with mixed distribution models, including direct and indirect sales.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a results-driven approach.

  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.

  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous but not essential.

  • Happy to travel internationally as required .
