Hydraulics Systems Engineer - Our client is at the forefront of innovative Marine engineering, specialising in the design, optimisation, and supply of decarbonisation solutions for the maritime industry.
With their expertise in wing propulsion, foiling and flight control systems, they are leading the sustainability revolution within the maritime and shipping industry. From reducing fuel consumption – measured in tonnes per day – on ocean going ships through their sail technology and advanced efficiency optimisation methods, to enabling the growth of marine electrification with the implementation of their foiling and FOSS solutions.
They are looking for a Hydraulic Systems Engineer to join the team and work alongside the Lead Hydraulic systems Engineer to contribute to this pioneering work. Your role will be instrumental to the design, validation and testing of hydraulic systems for a wide range of state-of-the-art projects. These projects cater for varying industries with unique sets of requirements but always retain one common goal, to decarbonise the marine industry.
Hydraulics System Engineer Role:

  • Collaborate with a small, dynamic team of engineers to develop systems for commercial, leisure and shipping sectors of the Marine Industry.
  • Design and specification of hydraulic systems from producing schematics to 3D modelling and manufacturing drawings of manifolds and other components.
  • Produce documentation and calculations to support designs.
  • Modelling of hydraulic systems with Simcenter AMEsim for validation of systems.
  • Develop and test hydraulic systems.
  • Supplier selection and management.
  • Commissioning and technical support for vessels.
  • Produce documentation and calculations to support designs.
    Hydraulics System Engineer Requirements:
  • Higher education within a Fluid Power, Mechanical, Electrical, control systems or related field.
  • NFPC (or equivalent) Hydraulics Training (this could be provided for a suitable candidate).
  • Strong understanding of Industrial and Mobile hydraulic systems and components.
  • Understanding of Mechanical systems.
  • Experience with CAD design, preferably Siemens NX.
  • Experience in creation of hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with hands on tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to cross-functional team members.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Experience with Simcenter AMEsim simulation software is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of marine industry, classification societies and electrical systems or PLC systems is desirable.
  • EPlan ECAD experience is desirable but training can be provided as necessary
