Government Loan Officer
Crawley – Hybrid, relocation support can be provide.
As one the UK’s largest Aerospace & Defence organisation, Thales manages a range of complex equipment in collaboration with the UK Government. Given the volume and value of the equipment, we’re recruiting for a Government Loan Officer (GLO) to hold responsibility for Audit, Compliance and Customer Interface for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) within Thales.
This position would be well aligned to individuals with a significant Inventory Management background and experience of Supply Chain functionality within the Defence sector. It could also suit individuals with a background in the Forces who are experienced in Logistics, Compliance and Auditing.
objectives
Responsible for the management and process compliance of all aspects of GFE within the supply chain. Representing the company in GFE audits and any other relevant customer material audits. Developing improved solutions within the GFE supply chain including developing the interface with key customers Improve GFE accountability and transactional compliance. Provide administration support to improve process effectiveness within GFE/CFE areas. Participate in the development of solutions to process issues.
Key deliverables and responsibilities
Apply a methodical, disciplined approach to Inventory Management and GFE accountability. Lead improvements in process & transactional accountability Develop key measures and gatepost activities to support GFE accountability Drive a self-audit process to improve GFE compliance. Responsible for the presentation of data relating to GFE Take lead role in customer audits. Build relationships with all stakeholders e.g. internal functions and customer reporting requirements. Participate in the development of solutions to process issues in line with company objectives Participate fully in the day to day physical and transactional movements of GFE stock
Experience, skill and qualifications required
Experience of key Supply Chain function in Defence industry – including management of GFE in line with the requirements of DEFSTAN 05-99 and DEFSTAN 611. Experienced, with a demonstrated record in delivering compliant processes and upholding Quality Assurance in all aspects of the supply chain. Capable of managing and growing improved efficiency with the customer interface Demonstrated experience in developing and enforcing audit plans Understanding of Defence industry supply chain standards is essential Experience in working across varied functions Recognised Supply Chain qualification is desirable Recognition of complimentary or associated awards will be beneficial to applicants.
Security Clearance statement
This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
