Senior/Principal FPGA Engineer | Space | ChelmsfordAt the forefront of technological innovation, our client is a global leader with a stellar reputation, specializing in the development of cutting-edge products for the scientific, satellite, and space industries. An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior/Principal FPGA Engineer to join the Space Imaging Team in Chelmsford which provides performance CCD, Infrared and CMOS sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high energy physics applications including the Hubble Telescope, Keplar, GAIA, Mars Rovers, New Horizons, and Rosetta to name but a few.Role SummaryWere seeking a Principal or Senior FPGA Compliance and Verification Engineer to join the Team. Working within a multi-disciplinary project team comprising of FPGA engineers, electrical hardware engineers, software engineers, and verification engineers, This Engineer will be the primary interface between the FPGA functional team and the Product Assurance team.Duties include :Drive FPGA development, verification and release processes in line with ECSS standards and requirementsEnsure that all FPGA related documentation delivered to the customer meets ECSS standards.Review processes / source code reviews.Generate test plans and procedures to ensure that the deliveries meet all customer and internal requirements.Hands-on testing and verification of FPGA deliverables.Desirable Experience:Knowledge of development standards used in Space, Aerospace, or Defence e.g. ECSS-Q-ST-60-03C and ECSS-E-ST-20-40C.Previous experience of FPGA compliance.Verifying robust high reliability coding.Developing FPGA verification and validation plans and quality assurance procedures.Experience with version control software such as subversion.Experience of requirements managements using software tools such as Jama.Experience with issue tracking software such as Redmine or Jira.Previous experience developing VHDL FPGA code and using FPGA simulation tools and UVVM testbenches.Experience writing verification and validation plans.Methodical approach to verification testing and recording of results.Previous experience developing automated test scripts containing embedded software and FPGA code using Python is desirable but not essentialBenefits:Competitive Salary dependent on experienceSuperb campus working environment25 days annual leave plus bank holidays as standard with the opportunity to purchase up to 5 days additional leave.Free on-site parkingand secure area for motorcycles and bicyclesElectric Car scheme / salary sacrifice.Competitive pension schemeCycle to work schemeLife AssuranceThe site has its own football pitch, which holds regular company tournaments.Season ticket discountson Greater Anglia Trains.Christmas shutdown ensures that you get time off during the festive break.Flexible start and finish times 37 hour week and core hours are between 9:00am and 15:30.Support your professional developmentwith a paid membership to a relevant professional body.Access to mentors and training explore the vast training library at the company University!The company has a culture that is friendly and welcoming.TPBN1_UKTJ
