Our client is looking for a Fire Alarm Proposals Engineer to join their Fire Detection and Electrical Department. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful estimation of new fire detection and alarm system installations, as well as additions and modifications, all in line with established company procedures.

You may be required to attend site surveys and project sites across the UK.
Occasional travel with overnight stays may be necessary.
There may also be occasional opportunities to travel abroad for meetings.
Key Responsibilities - Fire Detection Proposals Engineer

Managing enquires from initial stages through surveying, estimating and handover of the proposal to the Project Manager and Design Team once an order is received.
Monitor equipment and supplier costs to keep the department updated
Prepare estimate and proposal documents/letters
Prepare accurate cost sheets
Following up of quotations
Collaborate closely with team members of the project and design department to ensure a smooth and integrated project process
Attend internal and client meetings.
Any other reasonable duties required to enable the smooth efficient running of the department.
Qualifications & Requirements - Fire Detection Proposals Engineer

Minimum of 5 years' experience within the commercial and industrial fire detection system industry 
Excellent knowledge of fire detection products and system sales, estimating design, installation and commissioning.
Excellent knowledge of BS5839: 2025, BS6266:2011, BS7273, BS8519:2020
Good working knowledge of IEE 18th Edition of the Electrical Installation Regulations
Good working knowledge of necessary interfaces with mechanical water-based fire protection systems, plant shutdown signals and gas-based fire suppression systems.
Ability to effectively use IT related software including MS Outlook, MS Office (Word and Excel etc) and MS Project would be an advantage (or alternative planning software).
Clean driving licence
Experience of various panel manufacturers (such as Advanced, Kentec and Notifier).
Experience of various detection manufacturers equipment (such as Apollo, Hochiki, Notifier, Xtralis and flame detection
