Finishing Shop Operator - late shift

Location: Aldershot, Hampshire (Onsite)
Salary: Flexible dependant on experience (20% shift premium)

Work pattern: Starting on the 1st shift during training which is 6:30 - 15:30 Mon - Thurs & 6:00 - 13:00 Friday. Once trained you will be moved onto the second shift which is 37 hours/week, Monday – Thursday, working 14:45 - 00:00.

Job Profile

The Finishing Shop Operator will be responsible for operating machinery and carrying out manual finishing processes such as deburring, fettling, polishing, and part marking. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality, as it involves ensuring all parts meet customer specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Operate machinery and perform manual finishing tasks to deburr, polish, and finish aerospace parts.

  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure parts meet required drawings and specifications.

  • Maintain a high level of quality control to minimise inspection returns.

  • Support team members by assisting with additional tasks as required.

  • Follow company procedures and quality system requirements at all times.

  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and well-organised.

  • Maintain punctuality and reliability in daily duties.

  • Comply with all health and safety policies and complete any necessary training.

    Requirements / Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar hands-on role within a production or manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally noisy setting.

  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in a supportive team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable working within a small, collaborative team.
