Financial Reporting Controller

Our Opportunity
THALESUKare looking to recruit a proactiveFinancial Reporting Controllerto support the business to deliver and review financial performance. In this role you will be responsible for driving reporting processes and change, preparing monthly management accounts and providing accurate and timely financial information to the domain as required. The role will report to the financial controller for guidance and career development and there is a clear succession planning option in place.
Key tasks/Responsibilities:
- Drive monthly reporting in collaboration with the Finance Controller
- Perform appropriate reviews to ensure integrity of finances
- Provide commentary and insight into monthly performance and escalating issues where required
- Provide financial business partner support to various non-financial business teams
- Oversee Fixed Asset accounting
- Support the development and maintain effective mechanisms for the review of MYB, annual budgets & estimates and for the production of realisable financial forecasts
- Review Balance Sheet reconciliations, escalating where required Key R&Os
- Support to Management and Review of the business working capital, with specific focus on Inventory Control
- Cash forecasting accuracy
- Assist in the implementation of group IT tools and reporting techniques
- Ensure that financial affairs are conducted in accordance with Group Principles (including ICQ & YAL compliance)
- Continual improvement of financial processes to ensure a robust controlled environment.
- Ad hoc tasks, reporting and analysis as required.
About You
- You should ideally be an experienced accountant with relevant qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- You will be highly customer focused and be experienced in communicating financial knowledge across all levels to collaborate with both finance and non-finance professionals.
- Experience working in a complex matrixed organisation is critical.
- You should have excellent prioritisation and self-management skills along with the ability to manage and meet a wide variety of internal and external reporting deadlines.
- You will have experience of working in a business partnering capacity with the ability to challenge the status quo.
- A finance professional with sound knowledge of accounting rules and procedures, able to work to a high standard with an attention and diligence to detail.
