Field Electrical Technician – Stone – Site Based – Competitive Salary

VIQU have partnered with a leading entity in operational technology and digital transformation. Operating in highly regulated and demanding industrial sectors, they have successfully executed pivotal projects across energy, nuclear, renewables, water, and manufacturing domains.

They are seeking a Field Electrical Technician to join their Service & Support team. The role involves integrating and maintaining telemetry systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with internal teams and clients to deliver effective solutions. This position offers a mix of hands-on engineering, site-based work, and the opportunity to work on diverse projects across the UK.

Key Requirements of the Field Electrical Technician:

  • Certification in 18th Edition Wiring
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or a similar electrical qualification.
  • A strong hands-on background in electrical engineering or control systems.
  • Proven experience in the installation and commissioning of telemetry outstations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Desired:Experience with PLC/RTU control systems, ISaGRAF programming software, and AutoCAD

Key Responsibilities of the Field Electrical Technician:

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, system diagrams, and installation specs.
  • Manage the integration of telemetry systems with existing hardware and software, covering design, testing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve telemetry-related issues during development and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining high quality and safety standards.
  • Work with clients to understand their needs and provide custom engineering solutions.
  • Conduct site surveys and offer ongoing technical support to clients and internal teams.
