What you will enjoy doing

  • You will join a skilled engineering team supporting operations across Port Talbot, Newport, Cardiff and Trostre
  • Also you will provide Electrical and Instrumentation expertise for the Port Talbot plant
  • You will supervise personnel in line with Permit to Work requirements and actively contribute to SHEQ goals
  • You will be influential in the planning and coordinating maintenance of activities across all sites to meet company and industry standards
  • You will manage plant operations in a multidisciplinary capacity to meet customer demands and budget targets
  • Also you will monitor plant reliability and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • You will maintain liquid and gaseous supplies to merchant and pipeline customers within contractual conditions
  • Furthermore you will inspect plant equipment regularly, diagnose faults and support corrective actions
  • You will start up and shut down plant equipment as needed
  • Also you will prepare plant for maintenance by executing isolations and conducting gas analysis
  • You will operate independently for most routine and some non-routine tasks
  • Lastly you will select and supervise competent contractors to ensure safe and effective maintenance delivery

What makes you great

  • You will hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Instrument, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Also you will ideally have an HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • You will bring more than five years of practical experience in a technical role
  • Furthermore you will be familiar with hazardous environments, with CompEx Level 1–4 certification preferred (training available)
  • You will be willing to respond to emergencies and operational needs outside normal working hours, including 24-hour callout coverage
  • Also you will demonstrate a strong understanding of industry standards and statutory codes of practice
  • You will apply detailed knowledge of Permit to Work procedures in daily operations
  • Furthermore you will have a solid grasp of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • You will operate chemical and process plant equipment confidently and safely
  • Lastly you will consistently deliver high-quality customer service, even under pressure
