  • £35,000to £45,000 salary guide + pension + life assurance + private medical cover + 26 days holiday & all bank holidays.

  • Growing innovative product development and manufacturing business supplying several industry sectors including automotive, motorsport, aerospace, marine, defence, and medical.


The role would suit a candidate working in a mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, composites engineering, or similar type of role that would enjoy working on a diverse range of materials manufacturing engineering projects.


Your background as a Materials Engineer:

  • Your background could be very varied the role would suit a candidate with a mechanical engineering, materials engineering or composites engineering background interested in how products and materials are manufactured.
  • Any previous experience of working within a composites, polymers, or materials engineering environment would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Specific industry experience is not massively important but an interest in working on the development of products for automotive, specialist vehicle, aerospace, defence, marine or similar applications would be beneficial.
  • You will hold a relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in a mechanical engineering, materials engineering, composites engineering, product design or similar engineering / science-based discipline.
  • You must be eligible for UK Defence Security Clearance for this role.


Materials Engineer responsibilities:

  • You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of product development and manufacturing projects ensuring that materials used meet the highest demands required by their customers operating within the automotive, motorsport, aerospace, marine, defence, and medical industry sectors.
  • Working closely with R&D teams to ensure the smooth integration of new products into the manufacturing process.
  • Work closely with production and manufacturing teams to investigate and uncover the root causes of material failures and implement effective solutions.
  • Support the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Undertake technical initiatives such as material dual sourcing, material compliance and material/parts verification.
  • Evaluate industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing to drive innovation.


This job is commutable from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Cirencester, Stroud, Bristol, Chipping Norton, Dursley, Worcester, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye.
