Velindre Cancer Centre is thrilled to offer an opportunity to join our Project Team at an exciting time. You will deliver a programmes relating to equipment for the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC),
When complete the nVCC will be a world class facility. In support of this the Trust has facilitated the Transforming Cancer Services Programme, which sets out a compelling vision for excellence in South East Wales. Working closely with Welsh Government and Local Health Boards, the programme will consist of a number of projects which include the development of a new cancer centre (nVCC) in Cardiff, a Radiotherapy Satellite Centre in Abergavenny and the reconfiguration of outreach services.
Our challenge is to achieve the quality of services, patient experience and clinical outcomes that are comparable with the best in Europe and the western world.
The post holder will work in the nVCC Project as part of an equipment workstream, supporting the Transformational Change Director in delivering the workstream objectives and dependency link wider TCS Programme to deliver a new hospital in 2027.
The post requires an individual who has excellent organisational and communication skills. Experience of working in healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
Main duties of the job
Assist in the development of equipment specifications and the subsequent evaluation and selection of equipment Be involved in the development of equipment solutions and layouts Work with the project workstream to identify risks relating to equipment Identify equipment transfer potential Work in collaboration with departments/services together with removals and disposals partners to organize Department level support in relation to equipment removals and transfers Carry out research and development work to support the effective discharge of responsibilities Serve as a central contact point for equipment maintenance and repair (excepting medical devices).

Good level of educational attainment to degree level or equivalent experience. CIPS level 4 qualification or equivalent procurement experience. Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
