Enterprise Integration Architect

About the role
Due to a huge period of growth within BSI underpinned by a large scale, business wide technology transformation, we are excited to be looking for an Enterprise Integration Architect.
Reporting into the Head of Enterprise Architecture within the IT Strategy, Data and Architecture directorate. This is a pivotal role in ensuring BSI gains the maximum strategic advantage from technology investment by:
Demonstrating an understanding of strategic issues and being an authority on platform integration and the typical problems associated with the implementation: from initial concept through development and implementation to operation and support through to deprecation and decommissioning.
Leading the definition of a SOA architecture from SaaS building blocks and moving towards a MACH model
Having detailed practical knowledge of the technology platforms, development and integration models, standards, tools, and techniques.
Being conversant with the organisation's IT strategy, policies, and standards. Have a sound knowledge of risk assessment, change management, configuration management, reliability and safety methods and the use of metrics.
Showing evidence of analytical ability and attention to detail. Appreciates the importance of commercial constraints. Has a comprehensive knowledge of all stages of systems development, from specification to implementation.
Responsibilities
Accountable for developing and maintaining the overall integration strategy, including selecting appropriate technologies and frameworks.
Accountable for creating, iterating, and maintaining the enterprise integration architectures, developing key principles, policies and standards that describe the organisation’s future state, and that enable its evolution.
Responsible for evangelising the benefits of integration approaches and driving adoption of and adherence to relevant policies, standards, strategies, and architectures.
Responsible for ensuring the design of solutions meet specific requirements, compatible with agreed integration architectures, adhering to corporate standards and regulations and within constraints of performance and feasibility.
Accountable for identifying strategic new and emerging technologies, products, services, methods, and techniques, and assessing their potential impact upon BSI’s strategic goals, threats, and risks.
Leads the creation of reports and technology roadmaps and shares knowledge and insights about emerging technologies and their potential impacts, threats, and opportunities with others.
Accountable for plans detailing the transition and implementation plans of authorised new applications and infrastructure support, identifying budgetary, legislative, regulatory, policy, technical and staffing constraints, and clearly showing costs and expected benefits. Plans include identification and assessment of business risks.
Provides expert advice, both reactively and pro-actively, to those engaged in activities where enterprise architecture is applicable within IT.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Knowledge of SOA, composable and event-driven architecture approaches
Deep experience of working in project teams to deliver complex solutions.
Experience of providing advice and governance to multiple parallel solution delivery projects
Demonstrates an understanding of strategic issues and being an authority on platform integration and the typical problems associated with the implementation: from initial concept through development and implementation to operation and support through to deprecation and decommissioning.
Detailed practical knowledge of the technology platforms, development and integration models, standards, tools, and techniques.
Sound knowledge of risk assessment, change management, configuration management, reliability and safety methods and the use of metrics.
Analytical skills with comprehensive knowledge of all stages of systems development, from specification to implementation.
Possesses strong influencing and stakeholder skills particularly in translating business needs.
