Our Cadley Hill facility designs and manufactures seals for the Aerospace market for key end users including Boeing, Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Safran, and more.

 

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our UK Aerospace team. As part of this dynamic team, you will play a vital role in contributing to the achievement of TSS UK Aerospace objectives.

About the Job

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the primary function of this role is to ensure the manufacturing facility is provided with first-class engineering support. This role will entail development of the organisation to ensure the facility maintains market leading status with an emphasis on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing to develop a right first-time culture.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the process engineering, maintenance (incl facilities), H&S, and Design departments and workload.
  • Development of the team to upskill and gain a cross functional skillset within each department.
  • Effective management of engineering KPIs reporting manufacturing excellence savings and departmental performance.
  • Ensure risk management is in effect to limit downtimes within the facility with a focus on total preventive maintenance, critical spares inventory, contingency planning, and annual business continuity testing.
  • Be a key member of the senior leadership team setting and supporting Trelleborg’s key objectives to improve quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
  • Team inclusion to support new product introduction to ensure success in new projects with a risk-based thinking approach.
  • Management of facilities and implementation of H&S countermeasures to create a zero-accident culture.
  • Departmental budget control and CAPEX creation.

About you

We are looking for an individual with the skillset and passion to make a positive impact within the sealing solutions industry.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline (production/mechanical/materials) or appropriate experience.
  • Extensive technical experience within polymer-based manufacturing and assembly.
  • Knowledgeable in CAD with a proficiency in Microsoft office skills.
  • Experienced in dealing with direct customers and suppliers to develop relationships.
  • Managed a team within engineering.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO14001, H&S (ISO45001 desirable), and other industry standards.

  • Ability to communicate and develop skills effectively within all levels of a business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commercially aware.
  • High level of problem-solving abilities.
