Celanese are currently recruiting an Electrical Technician to join us here at the Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES) plant in Newport, South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced and varied manufacturing environment where we take pride in delivering flawless performance. You will provide business support at one of Europe’s premier Thermoplastic Vulcanizate plants, which provides raw materials to the global automotive industry.

You will join our multi-disciplined team working on various pieces of electrical equipment in an engineering environment. You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance, modifications and unplanned breakdowns are resolved in a safe and timely manner while liaising with stakeholders and completing relevant documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, an enthusiastic drive for problem-solving, a good understanding of modern electrical control equipment and distribution networks.

Responsibilities:

Day to day: Activities include, but are not limited to, assisting with routine functioning of equipment, working with stakeholders and other disciplines to complete repairs and breakdowns. Technical specification and ordering of electrical equipment. Involvement with Root Cause Analysis ensuring plant equipment strategies are up to date. Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.

Work closely with other engineers, discipline leads and team members to ensure seamless communication and integration of electrical engineering with overall maintenance goals.

Ensure designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality benchmarks.

Experience of SAP Plant Maintenance, would be advantageous.

Qualifications:

Electrical Engineering ( HNC Minimum) or equivalent experience.

A strong understanding of electrical safety and experience using safety related systems (Permit to Work, Risk Assessments, Management of change).

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Good collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.

Experienced in PLC’s. Fault finding and programming. Allen Bradley, Siemens

Experience and knowledge of AC and DC electrical drives

Ability to perform leadership role and co-ordinate day to day work of small electrical team.

Electrical compliance knowledge

Ability to manage and prioritize own work.

Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and P&ID’s

Liaise with vendors and site engineers.
