Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Delivery

Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control, battery management, and charging systems.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Identify and mitigate project risks, troubleshooting technical challenges proactively.
Maintain a keen awareness of technical pitfalls, ensuring issues are addressed before they become blockers.System Design & Integration

Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into the overall craft design.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and military specifications.
Provide technical direction on system architecture, component selection, and integration strategies.Ownership & Accountability

Take full ownership of the electrical system design and its performance.
Lead failure investigations, implementing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement.
Celebrate team successes while ensuring accountability for technical decisions and their outcomes.Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Stay updated on the latest technologies in power electronics, battery systems, and maritime electrical design.
Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance system performance, reliability, and sustainability.Prototyping, Testing & Validation

Oversee prototype development and system validation, ensuring thorough functional, performance, and safety testing.
Work closely with the testing team to diagnose and resolve issues.
Document and report findings, ensuring technical decisions are well-supported.Mentorship & Team Development

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and technical excellence.
Set and uphold engineering best practices within the team.Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent industry experience).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical system design, preferably in maritime, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g. AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar).
Experience with DC systems, CAN Bus, and power electronics, PLC design.
Knowledge of battery management systems, motor control, and power distribution.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance and industry standards for maritime or automotive electrical systems.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
Experience managing technical projects and ensuring successful delivery.
A proactive individual with strong commitment and self-motivation.
