Job title: Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Templecombe, Somerset (Hybrid)

Security Clearance: SC clearance required/must be able to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance.

About the role

Akkodis have an opportunity for an experienced Electrical/Electronics Engineer to design, build, and test Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE) for use with RF equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for the entire V-Cycle, producing electrical interconnect designs, cable schedules, wiring schedules, and enclosure through to final test and acceptance.

What you will be doing

• Design and develop Special to Type Test Equipment.
• Design and develop the case that will house the wiring and components.
• Implement the hardware architecture in physical and electrical form, fit and function.
• Define the Design Proving / Hardware Test Specifications
• Demonstrate compliance to the including the provision of V&V evidence for capturing in the Requirements Management tools (e.g. DOORS), the production of Test Reports and Certificates.

About You

You will possess extensive experience in electrical and electronic design, particularly within a secure environment. This experience should encompass the design and development of electrical components, cabling, harness systems, RF (radio frequency) technology, and data systems.

You will have the following experience:

• Previous electrical/electronic design experience within a defence/aerospace/maritime environment.
• Experience within the design of cabling and harness assemblies.
• RF/Data/DC signal experience beneficial.
• Design tool experience essential (CAD).
• Engineering development lifecycle knowledge.
• Experience producing design, test specifications and test reporting.
