Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

The Role:

As a Manufacturing Layout Engineer, you will support our key battery manufacturing client by delivering the design of layouts. Working with both Tata Technologies and the clients engineering teams, you will take requirements from initial brief through to a finished layout. In other words, you will support the project starting from strategy layout and finish when Final installation layout is available.

Area of Responsibility

Use systems like ACC / Revit/ +AutoCAD to take that 2D layout, along with equipment documentation from the to extrude the 2D and create the families for clearance, equipment bodies, working access, etc. Learn about the battery process and can use own engineering judgement to identify potential clashes in the model, what is high-risk and low risk. Work with OEM / Tech Partner to resolve the clashes and update the model accordingly. Tidy-up and create more streamlined versions of the 2D drawings for use in ACC. This includes working with OEM / Tech Partner to translate a lot of the text in the drawing. Update the block extrusions with 3D CAD received from vendors. Support "What If" studies on the current layout to help optimise the design Work in collaboration with cross functional teams.

Experience

Knowledge of Layout principles Knowledge of Top-level Manufacturing strategies Knowledge of Local Government regulations for Layout planning Knowledge of managing the utilities, logistics, warehouse, health & safety requirements Knowledge of manufacturing processes Knowledge of plant equipment’s like cabinets, machines, structures etc Experience in 3D modelling the equipment’s in more realistic create look alike models. Ability to understand the machine specifications. Should have knowledge of battery cell manufacturing processes. Good hands-on experience on ACC, 3D Revit and AutoCAD

Tool knowledge:

Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) (or BIM360) or similar platforms Revit 3D AutoCAD
