About your team: 

You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.

Join Centrica as the Director of Security Architecture, where you will lead and mentor a talented team of architects and engineers. In this pivotal role, you will ensure a cohesive architectural approach across all of Centrica’s technology platforms and product teams. Your leadership will be crucial in defining and implementing our information security and cybersecurity strategies, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence. Are you ready to lead the charge in securing Centrica’s technological future? As the Director of Security Architecture,you will:

Spearhead the selection and adoption of cutting-edge security architecture and design patterns. Collaborate with stakeholders to define security requirements and keep our architecture plans up to date. Shape our technology vision and long-term security roadmap, ensuring everything aligns with our high standards. Develop prototypes to showcase the value of new security technologies, implement robust cybersecurity strategies, and support a strong security architecture management framework. Evaluate the total cost of ownership for security solutions, assess the impact of changes, and resolve any architecture issues. Always on the lookout for innovation, drive best practices and ensure our Security Architecture aligns with the IT Controls framework and compliance.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Ideally a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security or related field. Highly desirable industry certifications such as SABSA, CISSP, or similar. Extensive leadership experience, specifically leading security architecture and engineering teams. Extensive knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies. Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards. Ability to evaluate complex security scenarios and make well-informed decisions.
