Charles River Discovery are excited to be recruiting for a Data Scientist to join our High Peak, UK site. This is a hybrid role, with regular travel to High Peak expected. 


The Data Scientist will expertly analyse data generated by a bespoke microarray platform in order to generate high quality reports for our clients in adherence to set service level agreements and deadlines. You’ll be working within a team of other established Data Scientists to work through complex data sets for a wide portfolio of client projects. 

What you’ll be doing:


• Analyse data generated by the scientific team using the Retrogenix cell microarray platform. This is to include data interrogation, QC, problem solving and interpretation. 



• Help to resolve complex technical data issues and provide statistical input as required. 

• Assist with compilation of high-quality images and summary reports for clients, based upon appropriate reporting templates and client-specific requirements. This needs to be a clear and accurate record of the study and results.



• Develop an understanding of the Retrogenix Cell Microarray technology platform.



• Contribute to the development of improved methods/automation for cell microarray data analysis and reports.

• Opportunities will be available to present work internally and to contribute to improving efficiency, assisting in continuous improvement initiatives as required. 

• Given the large and growing number of projects that are undertaken (>50 simultaneously) and varied client deadlines, this is a fast-moving field and requires an individual who can work flexibly and respond to tight deadlines contributing towards the business needs.

Job Qualifications


• Degree within a Biological Sciences, MSc preferred. 

• Demonstrable skillset in working with and analysing large, numerical sets within a scientific setting

• Additional experience of working in a CRO/Biotech environment is highly desirable 

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with internal/external stakeholders 

• Strong track record of scientific/statistical problem solving is essential
