Division info:

The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

The Machinist’s primary purpose is to produce conforming aerospace components, working to tight tolerances, using two CNC cylindrical grinders (Jones and Shipman) to grinding chrome plating, nickel plating and steel parts.

They will be required to work to – and understand – technical aerospace drawings. They will also support the Cycle with polishing / turning components. With vast opportunities to train in other machining disciplines, such as honing and super finishing.

• Producing conforming components in a timely manner
• Operating two Jones and Shipman Cylindrical Grinders to achieve correct dimensions and surface finish requirements
• Completing all appropriate paperwork technique sheets and production orders
• Using calibrated precision measuring equipment
• Working with a team and using your own initiative

Qualifications:

Requirements
• CNC Grinding experience
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
• Ability to use various types of precision measuring equipment
• Aerospace experience (Desirable)
• Time-served (Desirable)

• Experience operating Jones and Shipman Cylindrical Grinders (Desirable)
• Experience with chrome, nickel and cadmium (Desirable)
