1492 Search is helping a niche manufacturer in Bolton find a skilled CNC Machinist. This is a great opportunity to join an SME manufacturing business, part of a global group, who prides themselves on quality and right first time. They manufacturer precision parts for a variety of industries including space, aerospace, defence, subsea and industrial markets.

The Candidate | What Are We Looking For?

As a flexible Machinist and engineer, you will work primarily in the company’s Skilled Machining Dept and be an integral part of the Manufacturing Team.

In a typical week in this Machinist role, your duties will include

· Setting up turning machines – 3 / 5 axis and performing backup checks on colleagues’ set-ups.

· Inspecting work produced during operations and reporting quality defects.

· Working as part of the team responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and quality.

· Taking part in all activities as required, including any Lean/CI initiatives.

To succeed in this Machinist job, you will need previous experience as a cnc machinist- be able to program from scratch ( siemens, haas, fanuc) 3 and 5 axis and work to tight tolerances. You will also require the ability to read and understand technical drawings and choose the correct measuring equipment for any given task. Any experience with Edgecam 3d modelling or machining with polymers- plastics, nylon would be advantageous.
