Constellation is recruiting talented and reliable chefs of all levels - from Commis to Head Chef level to work at the prestigious Winchester College on a casual but ongoing basis. While this is a casual contract, shifts are available regularly and can accommodate either full-time hours or a flexible working pattern to fit around your other commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present food in line with menu specifications and portion control guidelines
  • Ensure food is produced efficiently and to a consistently high standard, maintaining both quality and presentation
  • Assist with menu planning, food costing, and stock control if in a senior role
  • Work alongside the kitchen team to support daily service, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and occasional special events
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment, in accordance with food hygiene and health & safety standards
  • Monitor food storage and rotation to reduce waste
  • Adapt to different service styles, including plated service, buffets, and high-end dining
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Follow allergen procedures and dietary requirements diligently


What You’ll Need:

  • A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (this is essential and must be current)
  • Relevant experience in a professional kitchen – roles available for Commis, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and similar levels
  • Food hygiene knowledge and understanding of safe kitchen practices
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility and a professional, positive attitude
  • Ability to make your own way to Winchester College – own transport or reliable public transport is essential due to location
