Want to progress your CFD/ Aero/ Thermal Engineering career? My client is an expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and they are looking for a CFD Engineer or Thermal/Aerodynamacist to help them achieve their objectives. You will be joining a team of highly skilled engineers, supporting or leading aerodynamic and thermodynamic development projects, whilst helping to develop CFD/Aero best practices and toolsets.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects with the support of a project leads

  • Able to work independently and set own project outline and targets; generate detailed reports of work carried out, conclusions and next steps

  • Lead or support aero strategy on Wirth projects as allocated

  • Produce reports of high quality and present analysis to CFD-Aero department and clients as required

  • Help the management team in the preparation of marketing materials, fee proposals and other documents

  • Contribute to innovative engineering solutions for continuous improvement of department capability, tools and processes

  • Collaborate with clients to analyse systems and propose tailored solutions aimed at improving energy efficiency

  • Generate and refine CAD schemes for new aerodynamic designs

  • Conduct energy audits and propose retrofit solutions for existing HVAC systems to improve efficiency

  • Prepare, check, and review HVAC engineering design documentation, including technical specifications, control strategies and system architecture

    Experience Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail. We are particularly interested in candidates who can be creative in the application of thermodynamics, physics and technology to solve diverse problems

  • Graduate in good Aerospace Engineering Degree or equivalent, 2:1 or better

  • Challenges data and current ways of thinking

  • Strong understanding of CAD (NX or Rhino3d desirable), Computational Fluid Dynamics (OpenFOAM preferred) software and aerodynamics applications.

    Desirable:

  • Up to 3 years experience of aerodynamic or thermodynamic work, with experience of delivering aerodynamic projects or using and developing CFD methods in industry or PhD

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Matlab, MS SQL Server, etc

  • Knowledge of F-gas regulations, design, installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC or refrigeration systems

  • Experience of modelling and analysis of heat pumps, & HVAC systems using HVAC design software
