Our Role

The evolution from a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to a Distribution System Operator (DSO) is driven by the development of a Smart Grid. This modernised network incorporates significantly enhanced monitoring and control capabilities across all voltage levels, far beyond traditional systems. The Smart Grid enables real-time management of energy flows and system constraints, allowing assets to operate closer to their maximum capacity. It also supports both local and centralised automatic corrective actions when needed.

As a Central Telemetry technician, you will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of work on the SCADA system including databases for Remote Terminal Units (RTU) configuration. This will include fault work, amendments to existing RTU databases and the commissioning of new RTUs onto the high and low voltage network. Where necessary, you will also assist in fault and work dispatch.

What We’re Looking For

  • Familiar with Schneider Electric’s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
  • Experienced in database management, network / operational diagrams and symbology.
  • Willing to continue education working towards HNC.
