Davies are looking to recruit an experienced Liability Claims Handler to join our Casualty team based in Stoke. Dealing with Employers and Public Liability Claims, your role will be to provide a quality claims service on behalf of clients and pro-actively handle claims in accordance with the insurer’s claims handling philosophy.


What will your day look like:


  • To establish if cover is in place for the claim
  • To record all claims on the digital claims-handling system and ensure that all MI data is consistently and accurately recorded
  • To investigate claims either directly via desktop, or by instructing loss adjusters
  • To make decisions on liability
  • To negotiate claim settlements
  • To ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLAs
  • To build relationships with external clients and stakeholders
  • To attend if required, client claim review meetings either in person when required or on Microsoft Teams platform


Knowledge and Abilities:


  • Liability Claims Handling experience
  • A professional and adaptable communication style – both written and verbal;
  • Efficient administrative skills;
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills;
  • A proactive attitude, and an enthusiastic approach
  • An excellent customer service manner
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • A willingness to take individual responsibility
  • The capability to adapt and be flexible
  • Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions, indemnity processes
  • Modern claims practice;
  • The Civil Procedure Rules;
  • MOJ protocols;
  • Current case law and assessment of personal injury valuation and negotiations.
  • Ability to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
