Job Title: CAD/CAM Programmer
Location: Romford
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
Hours: Day shift Monday to Friday
Actio recruitment are rcruiting for an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join an established aerospace company.
The role:
The role requires a self-motivated individual with precision manufacturing engineering experience and knowledge of aerospace practices and principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating CNC Part Programmes for 3, 4 and 5 Axis Machine Tools along with the creation of processes for new products and the identification of process control requirements including tooling, inspection plans and key characteristics.
Requirments:

  • Proficient use of CAD/CAM Software to generate 3D Models and production of CNC Programmes (GibbsCAM preferred).
  • Highly capable in machine tool and cutting tool specification and application.
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Previous use and experience of SOLIDWORKS.
  • Knowledge of precision engineering processes including general machining (milling and turning).
  • Knowledge of Aerospace requirements particularly operating to AS9100.
  • Ability to present and communicate at all levels including the customer where appropriate.
  • Proven experience of working to schedules and the ability to plan personal workloads.
    Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of CNC Programmes from planned processes: * development of tool definition; * production of setup sheets and tooling plans; * proving of Programmes into production.
  • Own the configuration of all supporting process elements including production routings, tooling, gauges, test equipment, work holding and CNC programmes.
  • Determine materials and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification at lowest cost
  • Make improvements to current operations to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop processes and methods to meet manufacturing requirements ensuring lowest cost and highest quality.
  • Development of transparent cost structures and identification of potential reduction initiatives.
  • Support the development of documentation to enhance process control.
  • Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) team
