DHX Denley Hydraulics solving complex hydraulics for demanding engineering applications. Based in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, with customers across the UK and world we work in a range of industries including environmental, stadia, oil & gas, defence, nuclear and renewable energy. 
 
We specialise in end to end lifecycle management from advising clients on concept design, to designed design, manufacture, supply and install. And then ongoing support through servicing, maintenance, repair & overhaul and spares. 
 
Our product portfolio includes Hydraulic Cylinders, Hydraulic Power Units (including Pneumatic & ATEX variants), Lubrication Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Valves and Actuators & Test Rigs. 
 
We have been involved in many high profile and excited projects including the retractable pitch at Tottenham Hotspur FC, Falkirk Wheel, Kai Tak Sports Park, Wembley Pivot Seating and the 02 Orbital Tidal Generator.
 
DHX supplies a number of its own customers directly as well as providing hydraulic expertise and equipment into the wider Kinetic Solutions Group.

Job Description

Due to expansion and business growth, DHX Denley Hydraulics is hiring a Business Development Manager to expand our sales presence to maximize our market potential.  
 
You’ll be visiting existing and potential clients to secure business, agree scope of works, prepare costings and regularly engage with new and existing customers and our wider business. You also will engage internally with design, engineering, quality and production to develop costings and proposals ensure we can exceed client expectations and continue to offer value add solutions. You’ll also prepare tenders and costings for service, maintenance, refurbishment and spares to support our in service assets.   
The role involves a high degree of autonomy and ownership for your portfolio to achieve your sales intake target. As a confident, articulate, communicator your will be a great ambassador for our brand in the industry. 
Experience:

  • Preferably from a background in hydraulics or complex industrial design and manufacturing. 
  • A passion for sales in a technical setting and familiar with prospecting and closing deals with customers.
  • Experience working with or selling to public procurement, defence and nuclear is preferred. 


Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM platforms and familiarity with internet-based programs.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication and customer-relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills (written and verbal). 


Work Conditions:

  • Willingness to travel nationally a couple of times per month to visit customers, sites and industry events. 
  • Ability to work effectively independently and collaborate with internal stakeholders. 
  • A “get-it-done” mentality to manage simultaneous activities and challenges


Security Clearance 

Please note that our offer of employment is conditional upon your ability to meet UK security clearance requirements. This is necessary for you to work on the full range of projects requiring security clearance at Kinetic Solutions Group.

  • Managing pipeline from developing new customers and markets, through to tender and contract winning. Working with clients to understand their requirements, advise on solutions, develop offerings and advise on value add options. 
  • Responsible for sales strategy, forecasts and business & marketing plans.
  • Creating an annual plan for targeted industry events and exhibitions, developing marketing material and attending events.
  • Achieving business targets through regular review of sales and tendering activities and implementation of      improvement/focus plans as needed. Maintaining CRM as a record of prospects, opportunities and customers.
  • To ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures and Accountancy Policies and approval procedures
