Behaviour Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Cardiff CF5)

Location: Cardiff (CF5 area)
Start Date: 5th January 2026
Salary: £120 per day
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term time only)

We’re seeking a strong Behaviour Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant secondary school in the Cardiff CF5 area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day and has experience working with young people who have a range of behavioural and additional learning needs (ALN).

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning across the school by:



  • Delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects when teachers are absent.


  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment.


  • Supporting students with behavioural or ALN needs, using effective de-escalation and engagement strategies.


  • Assisting in PE or sports lessons when required.


  • Providing general classroom or small group support as a Teaching Assistant when needed.


You’ll be a key member of the school’s support team — flexible, proactive, and ready to step in wherever you’re needed most.

Key Requirements:



  • Previous experience working in a school environment (essential).


  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.


  • Confidence delivering lessons and engaging secondary-aged students.


  • Ability to support a wide range of learners, including those with ALN.


  • Versatility to cover multiple subjects and take part in sports activities.


  • A calm, resilient and professional approach.


  • EWC registration and Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
