Morson Talent are currently recruiting for an Assistant Tax Accountant to work on the behalf of our prestigious Aerospace client based in Yeovil on a 6-month contract, with possibility of extension.

Job responsibilities
As Assistant Tax Accountant, you will report to the Senior Tax Manager assisting with the monthly compliance around UK and International Indirect tax reporting and Employer duty compliance for the client’s Ltd legal entity.
You will be an integral part of the tax team supporting the day-to-day tax matters which typically include VAT and overseas equivalents, PAYE and other ad hoc duties. Typical tasks will include:

  • Preparation of monthly UK and International VAT returns.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations on all Employee Benefits in Kind with any irregularities investigated and followed up.
  • Assist with P11d, PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations, statistical returns and ad hoc requests for information.
  • Ensure tax general ledger accounts reconciled and journals posted.
  • Liaison and participation with other departments to discuss relevant tax matters.
  • Support the tax team as necessary with any ad hoc tasks.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines,
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Attention to detail,
  • Good excel skills and ability to work with complex spreadsheets,
  • Some understand/experience of UK VAT/tax requirements.
    Nice to have
  • Desirable but not essential knowledge of SAP.
    Regular Remote Worker (~20% onsite), 37 hours per week.
