Anglian Water is an innovative utility company always looking for ways to continue to make sure it is fit for the future. We are looking for a curious person with electrical/electronic engineering background who will work in a team with Water Recycling process optimisation engineers and engage with our field operational teams. You will provide technical support, carry outsite audits and investigations to identify and promote business cases and effective optimisation solutions for our Water Recycling assets and operations.You will use AW performance reports, telemetry monitoring systems and work with our team of analysts.
You will also work with our optimisation delivery engineers and third-party contractors ensuring capital investment projects are scoped, designed and successfully completed tomeet the needs of the AW operational teams. You will then use available data to effectively monitor and validate projects’ benefits.
Collaborating with the Water Recycling operational teams, you will be the main point of contact focusing on identifying and promoting Optimisation opportunities on Water Recycling Centres, Sludge Treatment Centres as well as across Water Recycling Network (pumping stations, sewers and rising mains) and providing effective solutions to reduce operational costs and business risks.

What does it take to be an Optimisation Engineer?
ONC/HNC in Electrical/ Electronic engineering or equivalent
Categorised electrician 3 (or working towards if previously held)
Good all round experience in control and instrumentation backed up by a solid knowledge of practical electrical principles
Excellent communication skills with the experience of building and managing productive, credible business relationships with colleagues and managers
Good understanding of IT systems and applications (experience of using telemetry systems, HMIs, Scada, PLCs as well as SAP would be advantageous)
Ability to identify issues quickly and develop effective solutions in dynamic environments.
Health and Safety management ideally qualified to IOSH level
Lean management or other relevant process experience or qualifications
Understanding of commercial aspects of business risk and tactical operations
Demonstrable experience of integrating capital schemes into operational sites
Understanding and experience of Water Recycling operational processes (e.g.: pump applications and instrumentation)would be advantageous
Full UK driving licence
