Working as part of a fast pacedand challenging business, in this role you will be alignedcentrally to the Manufacturing Engineering Industrialisation andCost team. The procurement Central Manufacturing Engineeringfunction is accountable for the delivery of ManufacturingEngineering activities across a range of suppliers and commoditiesand driving business critical activities. Covering all elements ofthe manufacturing product life cycle, from new product introductionthrough to mature component cost reduction and improvementprogrammes, you will have the opportunity to work with andinfluence world class external suppliers and teams. What you will be doing In thisexciting role, you will be: Industrialisation: Managingindustrialisation plans and cross-category oversight in accordancewith Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production PartApproval Process (PPAP) including development of the enterpriseknowledge, skills, use of toolset (Net Inspect and Power BI) andcompliance reporting. Collaboration: Proactively accessing internaland external networks of technical communities and functional teamsincluding quality, design and project engineering, to ensurefulfilment and realisation of industrialisation and costprogrammes. Product Cost: Proactively supporting and drivingtechnical product cost reduction activities to ensure Category andAerospace Procurement aligned targets are met, including theengagement of key communities to support idea generation, programmeexecution, resourcing, funding and reporting. Technology: Providesupport to ensure the success of existing and future technologyprograms within Procurement. Act as a key point of contact forinternal category teams, assisting with troubleshooting andresolving technical challenges as they arise. Technical: Ensuringtechnical barriers to industrialisation are identified, clearlycommunicated and supporting the direct resolution of issues throughtechnical interventions. Strategy: Supporting, identifying anddeveloping opportunities to deliver key business targets throughexisting strategies, e.g. Zero Defects quality programme, andsupport / development of new opportunities. They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for allroles and for this role we are looking for someone with: Anengineering or other relevant discipline degree/HND/HNC andprevious experience working in a manufacturing engineering role.Supply chain experience is preferable ideally with experience ofindustrialisation and cost reduction programmes. Strong analyticalskills and a proven record of using tools and techniques associatedwith industrialisation and cost reduction. Excellentorganisational, communication and presentation skills and feelcomfortable presenting to varied audiences. You will be anenthusiastic candidate with a flexible attitude to work and a keeninterest in learning and sharing knowledge. Good team workingskills and ability to influence are essential.
