Leeds Bradford Airport
Shift pattern – 4 on, 4 off, days and nights

TheAOG (Aircraft on Ground) Buyer will join the Engineering Purchasing Team to procure and maintain the availability of aerospace components required to support short term defects across the Jet2.com airline fleet.

What will you do in the role?
  • You will work closely with Maintenance Control and Stores to support all Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs), ensuring materials are sourced and delivered within the required time frame. 
  • You will help create and implement supplier development plans in line with performance, communication and conflict management whilst ensuring all material and logistical requirements are set for maintenance schedules.
  • You will also be responsible for the progress of orders and manage transactions and contracts which will include quote comparisons to ensure minimal cost and maximum availability of components. 
  • In addition, you will evaluate and report day-to-day progression of areas within the Team and explore opportunities of improvement to the business. 
 
The successful candidate.
  • Will have proven purchasing experience, preferably in an aerospace environment
  • Experience withinlogistics/materials support
  • Be able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills along with the ability to interpret and understand current market conditions.
  • You will also bring a technical and commercial insight to the role with an operational and hands-on approach.
