Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Job Type: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Salary: £38,000 to £40,000
Work Location: 100% onsite

About the Role
Seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Part Inspector / Calibration Technician. This multirole position combines the inspection of metallic and non-metallic aerospace parts with the calibration of dimensional hand tools. Your contributions will support the daily operations and uphold the highest quality standards for our Aerospace customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect non-metallic and metallic parts using non-contact measurement techniques and hand tools.

  • Independently generate review, and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIs) to AS9102 standards.

  • Calibrate dimensional measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers) and acceptance fixtures.

  • Develop and follow calibration procedures for existing and new instrumentation.

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and part fault-finding using technical drawings.

  • Provide training on metrology principles and troubleshooting complex problems.

  • Occasional travel may be required to complete calibration tasks.

    What We’re Looking For

    Experience

    Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship to HNC level or equivalent technical training.
    Demonstrated experience in inspection roles within Aerospace or manufacturing.
    Proficiency in producing FAIs to AS9102 standards.
    Hands-on experience with CMM measurement techniques, vision projectors, and general hand tools.

    Technical Skills

    Familiarity with DISCUS and FAI reporting tools.
    Expertise in roundness, concentricity, and surface finish equipment.
    Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO10012, and ISO17025 calibration standards.
    Competency in uncertainty of measurement analysis.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Qualifications

    Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship to HNC level (or 10 years’ Aerospace/manufacturing experience in lieu).
    Full UK driving licence (essential).
    Desirable: Experience operating CMM equipment.
